Oia sits at the northern tip of Santorini, on the rim of the caldera, with the small port of Ammoudi at the foot of its red cliffs. Our cruises leave from Vlychada Marina at the opposite end of the island, so the transfer is part of the day: a driver collects you at your hotel in Oia and brings you back after the cruise. Oia from the water

Oia is the village the whole island photographs, but from a catamaran it is one chapter among several. The shared day and sunset cruises and the private day and sunset charters sail the south coast and the caldera: Red Beach, White Beach, the lava formations of Mesa Pigadia, the volcano and the Hot Springs, then the cliffs below Fira before the turn for home. They turn at Fira and do not reach Oia.

The full-day private cruise does. After Thirasia it passes the chapel islet of St. Nicholas and sails along Ammoudi Bay beneath Oia, so you see your own village from below before the long sail back. The sunset cruises watch the sun go down from the water inside the caldera, a different seat from Oia’s castle wall: the same light, with the sea around you instead of the crowd.

Can I watch the sunset from the boat instead of from Oia?

Yes. The Semi-Private Sunset Cruise (€95 per person) and the Private Sunset Charter (from €1,200, covers up to 6 guests) end with the sunset over the caldera, seen from the water; afterward the transfer takes you back to Oia.
