The Private Santorini Sailing Day Cruise gives your group its own catamaran for five hours, departing Vlychada at 9:30 AM and returning at 2:30 PM. €1,200 covers up to 6 guests (each extra guest is €100) and includes the full caldera route, swim stops, a fresh meal cooked on board, and hotel transfers.
A private charter means the whole boat is yours: your pace, your music, your swim stops. The morning slot is made for lovers of vibrant blue water — the light before noon is when Santorini’s south coast looks its most electric, and the coves are at their calmest for swimming and snorkeling.
The crew tailors the day around your group — families, friends, or a celebration — while lunch is grilled fresh on board and served with local wine. The boat is kept at a comfortable capacity, and if your plans change, the route can flex with them.

Weather permitting, your private route covers the caldera highlights — and can be adjusted to your wishes:
- Red Beach — the famous crimson lava cliffs, with a swim stop in the clear water nearby
- White Beach — a sail-past of the white pumice cove that only boats can reach
- Mesa Pigadia & Akrotiri — quiet swimming and snorkeling below the ancient Akrotiri coastline
- Venetian Lighthouse of Akrotiri — the postcard lighthouse guarding the caldera entrance
- Santorini Volcano — sailing beside the volcanic islets of the caldera
- Hot Springs — the warm, mineral-rich waters by the volcano (bring dark swimwear!)
- Fira Old Port — panoramic caldera views beneath Fira before we turn for home

START — CAST OFF
Vlychada Marina
Every cruise begins on Santorini's quiet south coast, in the small fishing harbor our boats call home. Hotel pickup is included, so you simply step aboard, meet the crew and settle in while the wind-carved white cliffs slide past.
01 — SWIM STOP
Red Beach
The first stop is the island's most photographed shore: rust-red lava cliffs falling to dark sand. We anchor in the clear water nearby for the first swim, with the cliffs filling the whole view.
02 — SAIL-PAST
White Beach
A short hop west the cliffs turn pale. White Beach is a pumice cove with no road down to it, so boats have it almost to themselves; we slow for photos before moving on.
03 — SWIM & SNORKEL
Mesa Pigadia & Akrotiri
Below the ancient Akrotiri coastline the water is calm and glassy. This is the quiet stop: snorkel over the rocks with the gear from the boat, or just float while the crew starts cooking.
04 — THE CALDERA
Volcano & Hot Springs
Rounding the lighthouse cape, we enter the caldera and head for its dark heart, the volcanic islets of Nea and Palea Kameni. At the hot springs the sea turns warm and rust-colored, so wear darker swimwear.
05 — FROM THE WATER
Fira Old Port
We cross to the foot of Fira, where the old port sits beneath the capital's white rim and the cliffs tower overhead. The view back across the caldera is the one from the postcards.

Back to Vlychada
Out through the caldera entrance and back along the south coast. Your driver is waiting at the harbor for the ride to your hotel.

Good to know
- Dark swimwear for the Hot Springs. The volcanic waters contain sulfur, which can stain light fabrics — darker colors are the smart choice.
- Bring a light jacket. Santorini’s breeze picks up every once in a while, especially after sunset.
- Allergies or dietary needs? Tell us when you book and the crew will prepare accordingly.
- Timing shifts with the seasons. Departure times can change slightly through the year with the sun’s position — your exact pickup time is confirmed the day before.
- The boats anchor offshore. Cruises don’t include hiking on the volcano, and swimming stops happen from the boat in safe, beautiful spots.

Is the boat really just for us?
Yes — this is a fully private charter. It’s your group, the captain and the crew, and a route we can shape around what you want to see.
What is included in the price?
Round-trip hotel transportation, a freshly prepared meal on board with Santorini wine, beer and water, snorkeling equipment, towels, and a full crew — fuel, insurance and port fees are all included.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes. Transportation from your hotel to Vlychada and back is included; the exact pickup time is confirmed the day before. Staying in Oia, Fira, Imerovigli, Kamari or Perissa? Each area has its own pickup page.
What should I bring?
Swimwear (dark colors for the Hot Springs), a towel if you prefer your own, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light jacket for the breeze. Everything else is on board.
I get seasick easily — is this cruise a good idea?
Catamarans are the steadiest boats in these waters, and the route hugs the sheltered caldera coastline. Most guests who worry about seasickness end up forgetting all about it — if you’re sensitive, take your usual remedy before departure and sit toward the stern.
Can children join?

Private Santorini Sailing Day Cruise
This Private sailing cruise starts from Vlychada at 9:30AM, The Fisherman refuge center of Santorini, The closest we have to a marina! We'll sail south towards the red beach, make a stop for swimming and pictures and we'll continue to sail past the white beach. Then we'll sail towards Mesa Pigadia of Akrotiri and eventually go past the Light House of Akrotiri and into the caldera with the magnificent views and the Volcano in a straight direction to our bow! At The Volcano we'll make a stop by the hot springs for swimming while our crew members will prepare a delicious lunch for you when you come back! After the hotsprings we'll visit the beautiful island of Thirasia and on the way back we'll sail while watching from afar the stunning Ammoudi of Oia and the Old port of Fira! Eventually we'll return to Vlychada!
