When is the sailing season in Santorini?

Roughly April to November. Spring opens with mild days and quiet water; summer brings hot sun, warm sea and the meltemi’s occasional bluster; autumn keeps the sea warm long after the crowds thin. Winter cruising exists only in photographs — operators, ours included, rest and refit.

Months What to expect Best for
April–May Mild air, fresh water, uncrowded decks Sightseers, photographers, honeymooners
June–August Hot days, warmest swimming, busiest island Swim-first cruising, long sunsets
September–October Warm sea, softening light, thinner crowds The connoisseur’s pick
November Season’s last window, cooler and changeable Sightseeing cruises on the good days

The honest bit about wind

The Aegean’s meltemi wind visits in summer. Catamarans handle it gracefully and the caldera offers shelter, but the captain adjusts routes on breezy days and safety always outranks the itinerary — that’s in our terms and it’s non-negotiable.
